Skyward Airlines is a commercial and charter airline founded in 2013 by local pilots.  It operates out of Wilson Airport (WIL) and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA - Terminal 2) in Nairobi.

Destinations

Known for mostly local flights, it operates across coastal and domestic regions including:

• Mombasa
• Lamu
• Malindi
• Ukunda(Diani
• Eldoret
• Lodwar
• Kakamega
• Kitale
• Migori
• Garissa

Regionally, it only flys to Zanzibar in Tanzania.

As of February 2026, the airline also launched scheduled flights to Vipingo Ridge in the Coastal Region of Kenya with Friday and Sunday flights from Wilson Airport. 

While marking their 13th anniversary in August 2026, the airline launched a 13th route to Garissa  to serve the Northern side of Kenya.

Baggage Allowances

Standard tickets on regional routes out of Wilson Airport allocate 15 kg for checked luggage and 5 kg for hand luggage. Passengers can pay to add extra weight

To get the best experience as well as pricing, keep the following information in mind:

• Early booking - Flights usually fill up fast, especially to the coastal route including Ukunda, Malindi and Lamu. Alway book several weeks in advance.
• Online booking  - Passengers can book online on the official booking website.
• Terminals  - Ensure you confirm your terminal before departure, since Skyward operates from both Wilson ieport and JKIA depending on your destination and flight schedule. 
• Luggage limits - Due to the smaller aircraft sizes, the airline strictlty enforces 15kg checked and 5kg hand lugggage. Aim to carry soft-sided bags. If you wish to buy extra baggage, buy it in advance during the booking as it is significantly cheaper compared to buying it at the check-in counter.
• Airport Experience  -  Arrive 1 hour early, as the check-in counters for domestic flights strictly close 30 minutes before departure. Also make sure you carry valid identification - Kenyan National ID or foreign passport. 
• Online check-in - The check- in time opens 24 hours before departure.

Skyward Nairobi to Mombasa

Skyward Express operates multiple daily nonstop flights from Nairobi to Mombasa, serving passengers out of  Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA - Terminal 2) . The flight duration from Nairobi is a 1 hour direct flight. The departure times from Nairobi include:

Skyward Flight to Migori

Skyward flights typically fly to and from Migori 4 days a week - Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The flights depart once a day at 07:55 , arriving in Migori Airport at 08:45 (50 minutes) .

Skyward Flight to Malindi

Flights from Nairobi to Malindi are scheduled daily with one flight departing Nairobi - JKIA at 09:45, arriving in Malindi at  10:55 . 

Skyward Nairobi to Lamu

The airline operates flights from Nairobi to Lamu daily using the flight to Malindi departing Nairobi - JKIA at 09:45, with a stop in Malindi. The flights arrives in Lamu at  11:40. 

Skyward Nairobi to Lodwar

Skyward serves this route mostly as the only lone commercial aircraft. The flight flies for 1 hour 0 miniutes, departing early morning from JKIA at 06:00 arriving in Lodwar at 07:20.
